Examinations and Assessment
There are no set examination periods at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Each school has its own examination dates and procedures. However, all schools comply with the assessment regulations of the Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The assessement regulations include information on implementation of assessment, principles of recognition and compensation, instructions for Bachelor's thesis and maturity test and other directions.
Graduating students do not have a final test, but all the required courses and studies including the Bachelor's thesis and the Maturity test have to be completed and approved before the degree can be awarded.
Examinations and other credited forms are assessed numerically on the scale of 0 - 5 as follows:
|5||EXCELLENT - outstanding performance with only minor errors||A|
|4||VERY GOOD - above the average standard but with some errors||B|
|3||GOOD - generally sound work with a number of notable errors||C|
|2||SATISFACTOY - fair but with significant shortcomings||D|
|1||SUFFICIENT - performance meets the minimum criteria||E|
|0||FAIL - some work required before the credit can be awarded||FX|
|0||FAIL - considerable further work is required||F|
