The department of media and performing arts offers exchange studies in English in the field of media during 2017-2018. In autumn 2017 there are Media LAB studies and in spring 2018 Oamk LAB studies. Feel free to check out also the possibility of joining Oulu UAS' Summer School before your exchange, 7 - 25 August 2017.
Media LABs - Digital Publishing LAB and Sight & Sound LAB - are English-medium non-degree programmes (30 ECTS cr) offered by Oulu UAS in the autumn term 2017. Mostly 3-/4-year students in media and other educational fields are working together in multidisciplinary teams and according to a workplace-oriented model.
For more detailed course descriptions on the Media LABs, visit the links below and obtain Excel files of the respective exchange study programme. N.B.! Only courses from one programme can be taken due to timetabling constraints. Each programme can only be pursued on the whole (30 ECTS cr) for pedagogical reasons.
Each Media LAB consists of a 30 ECTS cr package of studies by which demos or productions are developed for an entire term, first by pitching ideas and then by working in teams on the project in a multidisciplinary approach. Digital Publishing LAB will work in cooperation with Oulu EduLAB and Oulu DevLAB from in Oamk LABs.
Students who have passed the Media LABs may continue their studies in Oamk LABs.
Exchange students must apply to Media LABs and to one of the options or study paths (Digital Publishing LAB or Sight & Sound LAB) within the regular application dates for Oulu UAS. Media LABs fit best for students in their 3rd or 4th year of studies, including a suitable academic/professional background. See also application requirements and process for exchange students.
For course descriptions you may also access the search tool, change language to English, and enter the search query according to the group code given above, either EXM17SDPL or EXM17SSSL. A list of the courses offered will appear. All courses listed are instructed in English.
Interdisciplinary project studies Oamk LABs are offered in spring 2018.
