The objective of the Degree Programme in Business Information Technology is to educate internationally oriented experts for business and software development as well as other positions in the field of information technology, i.e. digital media and IT-support.
The Degree Programme offers a solid competence for different careers in the field of information technology. It is oriented towards software development and software business, with an emphasis on international business skills and entrepreneurship.
Career opportunities include positions such as software analyst, software designer, programmer, product manager, IT-support officer, computer systems expert, webmaster and different marketing and customer service assignments in the field of information technology.
The curriculum includes studies in software development, programming, digital media, network, web and mobile technologies as well as international business skills. Aspects of developing software products are emphasised in the curriculum. Teamwork and problem-solving in a multicultural learning environment are used as methods of instruction. Practical training, Bachelor’s thesis and projects are carried out in co-operation with companies and organisations. Students are encouraged to take part in international student exchange.
