Study attainments are evaluated either numerically on a scale from 0 to 5, or on the scale "fail" - "accepted". As a student of the Open UAS, you are entitled to improve an accepted grade of a course once, and to improve a failed grade twice, without a separate fee. The possibility to improve your grades is valid during the following two terms.
Once you have acceptably completed a course or module, you will receive a certificate. When necessary, an attendance certificate will be provided for the employment authorities. The teachers will notify the unit's open studies contact person of your grade no later than three weeks from the evaluation, or from the agreed deadline for the return of the assignment. After this, the contact person will enter your attainment in the student administration system and will send a certificate to your home address by mail. When necessary, you can inquire your grade from the unit's contact person by telephone or email.
If you are a term or study year student (EUR 250) at the Open UAS, you will receive a certificate for all of the studies you have completed by the end of the term. If you need a study attainment certificate before that time, you can contact the Study Affairs Office and request a signed and stamped study attainment report card for the studies you have completed so far.
You can use the certificate in your CV or resume. With the certificate you may also obtain additional points if you apply for adult's degree education. Since the Open UAS courses and their performance requirements are the same as in the degree education provided by the University of Applied Sciences, you can propose that the studies you have completed be credited if you later carry out degree studies.
