Admission Requirements

Degree students

If you want to become a degree student at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, please acquaint yourself with the Guide for Applicants of the international degree programmes. For applicants considering to apply for our degree programmes instructed in Finnish, a certificate of matriculation and a good command of Finnish language is required. These students are selected through the National Joint Application System (annually in March and April and in September). Short-term and exchange students

The enrolment of exchange students is governed by bilateral agreements between institutions participating in the student exchange schemes. Separate applications for short-term studies, i.e. to attend certain courses at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, can be considered at all times. The academic year of Oulu University of Applied Sciences runs from late August or beginning of September to the end of May. The Autumn term ends just before Christmas and the Spring term usually starts in the middle of January. For a smooth start to your studies it is advisable to arrive before the beginning of the term. The orientation programme for exchange students takes place during the first week of each term.
