The Board of Examiners, an organ operating within the universities of applied sciences, is responsible for handling requests for rectification related to study attainments. The members of the Board are nominated by the Board of the university of applied sciences. If the student submits a request for crediting or compensation to a lecturer and on the basis of the response submits a request for rectification but receives a decision he/she is not satisfied with, he/she may submit the request to the Board of Examiner for reconsideration. The Board of Examiners is responsible for handling requests for rectification regarding bachelor's degree grades, professional specialisation studies' grades or open university's study module grades.
The rectification process
- The student who is not satisfied with his/her study module grade or the decision regarding crediting of his/her previous studies may submit a request for rectification to the lecturer. The request for rectification must be submitted orally or in writing within 14 days of the publication of the grade.
- In case no common ground is achieved, the head of the degree programme can assist as an arbitrator.
- In case no common ground is achieved, the student may submit to the chairman of the Board of Examiners a request for rectification within 14 days from receiving a notification about the lecturer's statement regarding the request for rectification.
- The Board of Examiners will handle the issue within 30 days from the reception of the request for rectification, except during July. The work of the Board of Examiners is subject to the relevant regulations (see 2 § in particular).
- The Director of Study Affairs will submit the decision of the Board of Examiners to the student.
- The decision of the Board of Examiners is final and cannot be appealed.
