Oulu Region Academy of Sport

Oulu University of Applied Sciences participates in the Oulu Region Academy of Sport, a co-operation network for combining professional training in certain sports and studies in the educational establishments in the Oulu Region. The Oulu Region Academy of Sport has been operating since 2001.

The Academy is designed for those athletes who wish to succeed in their respective age groups on the national or international level. A student of Oulu University of Applied Sciences taking part in the Academy of Sport has an opportunity to complete 15 credits (ECTS) of training-related studies.

The Oulu Region Academy of Sport and Oulu UAS also take part in the European Athlete as Student Network (EAS) that offers European student exchange opportunities where combining studies and success seeking sports is possible to the students participating in the Academy.

Getting Selected for the Oulu Region Academy of Sport

The athlete applies for the desired degree programme of Oulu University of Applied Sciences through the normal admission process.
After becoming accepted as a degree student at Oulu University of Applied Sciences and accepting the offered study place, the athlete can apply for the Academy of Sport.
A completely filled out application form is submitted to the liaison person at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The application is handled in the co-operation meeting of the Oulu Region Academy of Sport.
