The schools of Oulu University of Applied Sciences offer education in thirty different degree programmes. The University of Applied Sciences is maintained by OSEKK, the Oulu Region Joint Authority for Education.
OSAKO, the Student Union of Oulu University of Applied Sciences, is a service and support organization for all students in Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Each student studying in Oulu University of Applied Sciences is entitled to join OSAKO.
Every academic year, each student must enrol as a present or absent student. The student's period of eligibility may consist of an estimated standard study time, an extension year and a discretionary extension period. The student may temporarily lose his/her right to study, if he/she fails to enrol. The student may also lose his/her right to study for good, if he/she has, during the extension year, failed to apply for the discretionary extension period in order to complete his/her studies. The student may resign from the university of applied sciences by submitting a notice of resignation

Through Asio, the student administration software, the student can, for example, enrol (present or absent, optional courses), browse his/her study register and print the certificate of enrolment and the transcript of records.
