The student knows basic mathematical functions (e. g polynomials, rational, trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions) and their properties needed in engineering studies. Especially the student is proficient at doing calculations concerning sine waves and exponential functions. The student understands the basic consepts and definitions concerning functions e. g. the domain and the range, the inverse and composite function, periodicity etc. The student is able to solve polynomial, trigonometric and exponential equations. The student is familiar with basics of the mathematical computer programme used in lectures and laboratories and is capable of and willing to use it in problem solving. |
