Nordplus

Nordplus is an exchange programme for students of undergraduate programmes at all higher education institutions in the Nordic countries. It is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Under Nordplus, you can participate in an exchange programme in all the Nordic countries. Some 500 Finnish students take part annually in the Nordplus exchanges. Nordplus exchange students receive a grant to cover the expenses caused by the exchange period.

Goals of the Nordplus programme are

to promote wide-ranging and intensive co-operation between the universities of the Nordic countries with a view to establishing a Nordic educational community
to increase substantially the number of university students carrying out an integrated and fully recognised period of study in another Nordic country
to encourage the increased mobility of university teaching staff, thereby improving the quality of the education and training provided by the universities

Nordplus tries to achieve the above mentioned goals with the following instruments:

student mobility grants, awarded to full-time students as a supplement to national study grants for a period of study at another Nordic university for a period of up to one full academic year
academic staff mobility grants, awarded for a maximum of four months
short study visits for academic staff and university administrators
joint intensive study courses, grants awarded to staff and students participating in such programs

Nordplus grants can be awarded to individuals moving within the framework of signed agreements. Free movers can do exchanges within NORDLYS.
