The Circumpolar Mobility Program (CMP) is maintained by the University of the Arctic (UArctic) and supports both faculty and student mobility between northern institutions in the Arctic states. It is currently comprised of two programmes which offer opportunities for students and faculty to gain first-hand experience of other northern regions and homelands.
The Circumpolar Mobility Program (CMP) intends to achieve its goals through the implementation of two separate programmes for mobility and a supporting Mobile Faculty Roster:
The north2north programme provides opportunities for students to participate in UArctic programmes in another northern region. Mobility in this programme involves movement outside of the student's home region and normally lasts longer than three months.
The Northern Teaching Resources Exchange northTREX provides a pool of academic faculty from which all UArctic partner institutions may draw to enrich their curricular offerings, while also providing opportunities for northern teachers to gain circumpolar experience. Mobility in this program normally lasts for less than three months.
