Students from the partner universities of Oulu University of Applied Sciences can apply for a student or trainee exchange period. If you study at a higher education institution that is not our partner university, you can apply for a visiting/free-mover student status (notice, however, that such studies may be chargeable according to the Open University Studies fees).
Exchange applications should be submitted by the following deadlines:
Spring term by the 31st of October
Autumn termby the 31st of May
Applications for study abroad or practical training periods are submitted through the online Exchange Student Application System ESA.
NOTICE! Before submitting your application you should first contact the international/study abroad office of your own university to get an approval for your study/practical training abroad period at Oulu UAS.

Please prepare all the documents or the respective texts (especially CV and Cover Letter) in advance, and make your choice of courses etc. in the online Learning Agreement (links to the lists of available courses in English are available also in the ESA system). Notice that the maximum lenght of a CV and a Cover Letter is 3900 characters each (including spaces and line breaks).
Exchange students are exempt from paying for tuition (there may be exceptions to the rule especially as regards the visiting/free mover students). Students are responsible for their own travel, accommocation and subsistence costs. For further information, please see the ECTS Information Package.
As a general rule Oulu UAS cannot, unfortunately, support exchange students financially. Usually the grants are paid by students' home institutions and therefore you should consult the international office of your own university for details on financial support for studies abroad.
