Agronomists and Horticulturists trained by Oulu University of Applied Sciences are well prepared to find jobs particularly in Northern Finland. Our training approach emphasises students’ self-initiative, but also team-working skills. Learning is largely based on problem-based pedagogy. Projects and learning tasks are an integral part of the studies. Methods and practices of the workplace are applied during training, helping students to achieve efficient workplace skills.
Updated degree programmes: Agricultural and Rural Industries and Landscape Planning
Our new degree programmes involve themes important from the perspective of vocational training. Each of the themes is arranged as a 12-credit module with its own particular learning objectives. Students can select between the modules according to their own professional interest and learning needs, which provides them with options for building a more focused professional profile. The contents and learning objectives of the studies as well as their modular structure enable students to proceed flexibly in their studies.

Degree Programme in Landscape Planning
The Degree Programme in Landscape Planning concerns the planning and construction of greenspaces, the production of sustainable living environments and the provision of solutions and skills that support well-being. Key themes are planning, construction and management of greenspaces as well as horticultural trade.
