We provide extensive training in the field of natural resources and the environment. The training provided by us is unique in combining expertise in agriculture, forestry, horticulture and environmental planning. We apply business administration skills in both developing traditional primary production areas and supporting new industries.
The provision and development of training takes place in cooperation with employers and other developers in the sector. At the same time, we take full advantage of the multidisciplinary environment of Oulu University of Applied Sciences.
We offer training leading to a Bachelor’s degree in the following three degree programmes:
- Agricultural and Rural Industries, Agronomist
- Landscape Planning, Horticulturist (No new applicants admitted)
- Horticulture, Horticulturist (No new applicants admitted)
In addition, we offer the Degree Programme in Rural Development that leads to a Master’s degree.
Besides the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes, we offer specialised vocational education, studies at the Open University of Applied Sciences and training services tailored to the needs of individual workplaces.
We are an active participant in various employment sector networks in the fields of rural industries, horticulture and landscape planning. Companies and other representatives of the employment sector are invited to propose new research and development projects as well as training and other services. Cooperation with the employment sector is developed and implemented by our Agricultural and Rural Industries Team and Landscape Planning Team.
