Oulu University of Applied Sciences is maintained by the Oulu Region Joint Authority for Education, and the highest authority is exercised by the General Assembly of the Joint Authority, with the Executive Board operating under its authority. The administration of Oulu University of Applied Sciences is arranged as a public utility belonging to the Joint Authority having its own internal Board. Jouko Paaso, Ph.D., is the rector of Oulu University of Applied Sciences and also the Chairman of the Board of Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Mr Risto Kimari, Lic.Tech. is the vice-rector. Mrs Irene Isohanni, Ph.D. is the Director of Research and Development.
