The network for the development of universities of applied sciences' internationalisation is a project funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and co-ordinated by Turku University of Applied Sciences. It aims to promote and strengthen the internationalisation of the Finnish universities of applied sciences. The project started in 2004 and will continue until the end of 2006. Within the project's framework the following international activities, among others, are being developed through joint practices:

• Student and trainee mobility
• Teacher and expert mobility
• International communication and marketing
• International skills of the staff
• International project work
• Recruitment of international degree students

Additionally specialised expertise is brought to the internationalisation of education and research by participating in the development of the following sectors:

• Internationalisation periods of studies
• Teaching in foreign languages
• International virtual studies
• Internationalisation of research and development and regional development
• Quality assessment of higher education
