BioPrint project focuses on the development of electrochemical biosensors using printed technology. The technology has potential to produce rapid and inexpensive assays for environmental, health care and food safety analysis. The project aims at implementing a prototype-manufacturing laboratory, which uses the competence and infrastructure of the Oulu region and offers also a subcontractor network for companies to primarily test their product idea.
The implementing organisations of the project are Oulu University of Applied Sciences, University of Oulu Microelectronics and Materials Physics laboratory and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The project is funded by the regional EU fund, participating organisations and SMEs. The budget of the project is 900,000 € and its duration is from May 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013.
