The aim of the joint project INNOPI (2008–2011) is to develop innovative learning environments for students in health and medical education as well as working staff. Current learning environments can’t fully answer to the demands of modern healthcare system. By improving learning environments nursing and medical students can optimize their training concerning team work skills and demanding procedures.
The project consists of four subprojects and the educational interventions for teachers and tutors.
Training environments in which are exploiting simulation-, information- and communication techniques are built up for training clinical skills and teamwork.
A learning health centre. An action model is developed with authentic clients and new health care technology for training team work and interprofessional health promotion in efficient guidance.
Interprofessional education for health care and medical students will be developed and existing collaboration will be strengthen between two Universities of Oulu.
Guidance of practical training is improved and piloted in cooperation with clinical tutors.
Learning methods are developed to exploit effectively innovative learning environment, activating students and utilizing new technologies.
