The Library units of Oulu UAS are open to everybody. Some material can only be borrowed by the staff and students of Oulu UAS. These exceptions are mentioned in the library rules.
Loans can be renewed via Leevi online catalogue. They can also be renewed at the library service desks, by phone, or by e-mail (contact information). When renewing by phone or e-mail the customer has to prove his/her identity by giving the library card number or social security number.
Loans can be renewed 20 times if there are no reservations attached to them. Video recordings borrowed from the Library of Music, Dance and Media, the Library of Health and Social Care, Oulu and the Library of Health and Social Care, Oulainen cannot be renewed.
PIN is needed for logging in Leevi online catalogue. The default PIN is 12345. The customer can change the PIN after having logged in. If the customer has forgotten his/her PIN, the default PIN 12345 can be reactivated in the library. Request for PIN can be made with the Feedback form.
Customers can make reservations themselves in Leevi online catalogue or by contacting the library. Making reservations is free of charge. The same library card can be used in all units of the Library of Oulu UAS. The loans can be returned to any of the library units, no matter which library unit they have been borrowed from.
By using the Universal Borrowing service customers can order themselves books from the Library of Kajaani UAS, Oulu University Library and the National Repository Library (NRL) in Kuopio free of charge.
The Library of Oulu UAS can order books and articles from other libraries as interlibrary loans for customers. This only applies to material that cannot be found in the collections of the customer´s hometown libraries. Interlibrary loan service is fee-based, see Fees for interlibrary loans.
Customers can also send the Library Acquisition proposals.
In the Library of Oulu UAS only the library card of the Library of Oulu UAS can be used for borrowing. Also the student union card or the Lyyra student card of the Oulu UAS, or the Tiekkö-card in Oulainen can be activated to function as a library card. The library card of the Library of Oulu UAS can also be used in the Oulu City Library, but the card has to be activated there at the customer service desk.
The customer needs to inform the library about any changes in his/her contact information. It can be done at the library service desk, by phone, by e-mail or by filling in the form Changes in personal information.
A customer who has lost his/her borrowing rights cannot borrow, renew or reserve material. Borrowing rights will be lost if the customer´s overdue charges have amounted to 10 euros or more. The borrowing rights will be regained when the fines have been paid fully or at least partially so that the amount is under 10 euros.
Borrowing rights will also be lost if the loans are due 14 days or more. The borrowing rights will be regained after the loans that are due 14 days or more, have been returned and the fines paid fully or partially.
Overdue charges cannot be paid into a bank account. If a customer has received an invoice on overdue material, the invoice can only be paid into a bank account.

Students and staff of Oulu UAS have remote access to the electronic databases via Oulu UAS proxy server. Instructions on remote access. Remote access is also possible via Nelli portal.
All customers are allowed to use the electronic databases and full-text material inside the library facilities. Remote access cannot be offered to outsiders.
Nelli is a portal, which provides access to the electronic material of the Library of Oulu UAS via one interface. Nelli-help. Electronic material can also be found on the site Electronic databases.
In Leevi online catalogue using keyword amk-opinnäytetyö and additional keyword, for example amk-opinnäytetyö marketing. Also phrases can be used, for example "degree programme in international business".
