The compulsory work placement required for a polytechnic degree, or a part thereof, can be completed abroad. An international placement is a good way to improve both your language and cultural skills. Employers appreciate the experience provided by international placements: and an international placement is a great addition to your CV.
The international placements offered by the School of Business and Information Management are based either on the Erasmus Programme of the European Union or on bilateral agreements. Student can also find placements themselves. When finding a placement, students can use their own contacts, Finnish enterprises with foreign contacts, the Chamber of Commerce, databases, business registers and information from students who have previously had a placement abroad. The Centre of International Mobility, CIMO, provides international work placements around the year. Placement opportunities for various sectors, application instructions and forms, as well as other useful information, are available on CIMO’s Website at www.cimo.fi.
