Students can do the entire or a part of the obligatory practical training included in the bachelor degree abroad. International practical training is a good way of increasing knowledge of foreign languages and cultures. Employers value the experience gained during international traineeships: it is a valuable addition to the CV.
The international training positions provided by the School of Business and Information Management are based either on the Erasmus Programme, the European Union (EU) student exchange programme or bilateral contracts. As a rule of thumb, students acquire their own trainee positions. In acquiring the positions, students can utilise, for example, their own contacts, Finnish businesses with connections abroad, the chamber of commerce, databases, business registers, and information from other students that have already done their practical training abroad. The Centre for International Mobility, CIMO, also provides international trainee positions throughout the year. Visit www.cimo.fi to find out more about trainee positions, instructions, forms and other useful information for applying.
The same documentation instructions as for any other practical training apply also to international traineeships. In addition, the student must fill in specific forms for international traineeships. Contact the international relations co-ordinator of your school for more information.
