School of Renewable Natural Resources, as a part of Oulu University of Applied Sciences, is committed to the development of Northern Finland. This is done in particular by producing new labour force and conducting development projects. The special emphasis is on supporting small scale entrepreneurship of the region. School has close and beneficial contacts to working life actors in all fields of rural businesses. Knowledge and experience on sustainable utilization of natural processes in sensitive northern conditions forms a solid basis to our R&D activities.
In the School of Renewable Natural Resources research and development work is planned and developed in three expert teams: Agricultural and rural industries, Horticulture and Landscape Planning. Besides these fields our expertise areas are environmental management in rural areas and geographical information. Research and development work is done in the form of theses, theses groups as well as research and development projects. The school is active in international R&D networks. We are continuously open for project initiatives in our professional fields.
