O1001ST	First Aid (3 cr)
Prerequisites	No prerequisites needed.
Objectives	The student knows the most common injuries and attacks requiring first aid. The student knows how to give first aid, if necessary. The student knows ABCD approach. The student recognises when a patient is in a mortally dangerous situation; he/she can help an emergency patient independently and as a nursing team member. The student knows how to help the emergency patient in different nursing environments. He/she can make independent decisions, consult and ask others for help.
Content	Basics in giving first aid. Emergency first aid and additional first aid treatments. Principles in action and methods for remedy in acute situations. CPR-D.
Recommended optional programme components	If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
