| O1041BA | Advanced Studies in Hematology (3 cr) |
| Prerequisites | Pass on O1014BA and O1015BA. |
| Objectives | The student deepens his/her knowledge about cytologic and morphological examinations in haematology. The student demonstrates ability to identify pathological findings in haematological preparations and use the available laboratory test results in the assessment of smears. The student considers his/her proficiency to be a part of quality assurance and multi-professional work. In order to understand how research can lead to improvement in patient care, the student familiarizes him/herself with at least one modern haematological research process. |
| Content | Microscopy of blood and bone marrow cells. Quality assurance and implementation. Flow cytometry tests. Cytogenetic and molecular biology tests. Bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Current issues. |
