O4018HO Basics of Sexual Health I (3 cr)
Prerequisites The course fits for the second year students. Social and health care experience preferrable.
Objectives The student knows the basics of sexual health, and the ethical, cultural, biological and psychological dimensions of sexuality. He/she knows at least one extent of sexuality and understands its significance in nursing. The student understands sexuality as a natural part of life. The student knows measures for promoting sexual health among children and adolescents, and has knowledge about the impact of the most common diseases on sexuality.
Content Sexuality. Sexual health among children and adolescents. Promotion of sexual health. Dimensions of sexuality. Sexual disorders. The PLISSIT model and concelling.
