Objectives | The student knows the basic principles and theory concerning strength of materials. S/he is able to calculate the strength of simple machine parts and structures under static load. S/he is able to design mechanical joints between machine parts. S/he is able to choose main parts for machines. The student understands the importance and methods of testing in machine design. |
Content | Strength of Materials Basics 5 ECTS Material properties. Cross sectional properties, Main loading cases. Combined stress. Stability. Machine Parts 3 ECTS Bearins, lubrication and sealing. Springs. Power transmission and torgue. Mechanical joints. Testing in machine design 2 ECT Laboratory works. |
