YY00BD17 Professional Training (20 cr)
Prerequisites At least 90 etcs completed. Professional training (place, tasks etc.) in particular must be approved in advance by the teacher co-ordinating Professional trainings. See Study Guide for additional information.
Objectives The student can carry out typical work tasks in his/her field of study in a responsible and independent manner. He/she can use his/her theoretical knowledge in practical situations and detect possible problems that are typical for his/her field of work.
Content Working in a company or organisation in the field of studies. Reporting.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.

Further Information The student is responsible for finding a placement in Finland or abroad. The teacher responsible for training supervision must approve the placement and the tasks in advance before the training can start (Training Agreement). It is also possible to complete professional training for example in Lab or in projects.
It is recommended that the student identifies possible thesis topics during the professional training.
