Oulu University of Applied Sciences is maintained by the The Oulu Region Joint Authority for Education.
Under law, the university of applied sciences has autonomy in its internal affairs. According to legislation, the Rector acts as the chairman of the board of the University of Applied Sciences. In addition to the Rector, the board consists of two representatives of other management, two representatives from the staff of full-time lecturers, one representative of other full-time staff, three representatives from the body of full-time students and four representatives from business and working life. The tasks of the board are determined in the legislation (L351/2003) and the bylaws of the University of Applied Sciences.
Raahe School of Engineering and Business is led by the Rector. The school has two departments: The Department of Engineering and the Department of Business, which are led by department heads. Raahe offers bachelor’s degrees in five different degree programmes, each of which has an official responsible for the study programme.
