The objective of the international activities of the Raahe School of Engineering and Business is to assist students in a globalising environment. Language skills, interaction skills and familiarity with other cultures are skills that are needed in working life today.
Students have many opportunities for developing their aptitude for international activities. Part of one's studies can be carried out abroad either as an exchange student or as practice work. The objective of international educational cooperation is also to develop curricula and teaching (projects) and the implementation of education through interaction between high-quality and versatile international cooperation partners. Through various projects, our school also offers the opportunity for virtual mobility, in other words completing virtual study modules in schools with which we cooperate in Europe. Students also have the opportunity to study in foreign languages at our school or work as a tutor for international students. Students are welcome to join the activities of our Club KulttuRally.
The international operations of Raahe School of Engineering and Business are carried out together by the international relations coordinator, teachers and students. The most important programmes that guide operations are the EU's Lifelong Learning Programme (Socrates and Leonardo), Nordplus and bilateral programmes. Oulu UAS is a member of several networks, of which the most important are the Arctic cooperation network, the Northern dimension network and the Asia network.
Teaching is primarily in Finnish, but an attempt is also made to provide instruction in foreign languages at all levels. The Raahe School of Engineering and Business has one English-language degree programme: Degree Programme in Information Technology (240 credits). International exchange students, degree students, and teachers create an international atmosphere on our campus.
