Research and development is one of our School's main tasks and is a regional development task. Research and development consists of applied research, development and service activity motivated by the needs of working life. In addition, it is intended to develop the teaching provided by the university of applied sciences.

The Pehr Brahe Center for Industrial and Services ICT, with about 20 researchers, operates in association with the school. The software laboratory's projects offer students training jobs and thesis work. Raahe School of Engineering and Business is a valuable cooperation partner in projects for companies from the area.
