Supplementary Education

Raahe School of Engineering and Business is a forerunner in distance learning. Distance learning started in 1993 and about 3,000 students have participated in our courses.

The school plans and provides supplementary education to meet the needs of companies and organisations, both on campus and through distance learning. The subject matter and the duration and level of the teaching are tailored to meet the needs of working life. The teaching can also be provided in English. The instructors include teachers from the school and experts from business and industry.

The school has provided continuing education for companies and organisations in many subjects, including the following:

Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems
Device management
Word processing, spreadsheets and presentation graphics
Image processing
Internet use and data searches
Design and production of Web pages
Computer networks
Automation technology
Computer-aided design
Programming, for example C++ programming, object-oriented programming and Java programming
Foreign languages
