Student exchange programmes and internships abroad

Students have been provided with good opportunities for completing part of their studies at foreign partner universities. It is possible to apply for studies or internships abroad following the first year of studies. An international exchange study module provides experiences and different studies from another country and, of course, a nice addition to one's résumé. Studies completed during a student exchange programme are always part of the degree being completed and do not extend the duration of one's studies.

Depending on the subject, student exchange and internship opportunities are available around the world. Most of the exchanges are with European countries, but cooperation agreements have also been signed with countries in Asia and North America.

Internships are an important part of one's studies and they can also be completed abroad. Students of Oulu University of Applied Sciences have the right to apply for various grants for the internship period. If the student is planning a future in the international labour market, an internship abroad is highly recommended.

International studies

In addition to four Finnish-language degree programmes, Raahe School of Engineering and Business has one English-language degree programme that leads to a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. In addition to foreign degree students, every year the campus has exchange students mainly from Europe, but also from other parts of the world. Our school also has visiting foreign lecturers each year.

You can develop your international aptitude by participating in foreign-language instruction in which the study group is international. Students at Raahe School can also participate in international initiatives and projects. Cooperation partners in the projects include foreign institutions of higher learning and companies that operate in international markets.

Club KulttuRally

Club KulttuRally organises trips, events, traditional sauna evenings and other cultural activities for Finnish as well as foreign students. KulttuRally's active team organises, for example, the traditional opening ceremonies of the academic year known as the Preludi, a Christmas party, and WappuRally. All students of Oulu University of Applied Sciences can become active members of Club KulttuRally. The team meets once a month and plans and organises cultural events, follows the everyday activities of foreign students, and gathers feedback on their experiences. International tutoring

International tutors support international exchange students and degree students studying at the Raahe School of Engineering and Business and help them to take care of the tasks connected to their studies and everyday life. Arranging leisure time events is also an important part of their activities. International tutoring is coordinated by OSAKO ry. Study credits can be awarded for the tutoring. International tutoring is an excellent way to find new friends from around the world, improve one's language skills and learn about new cultures.
