End-product:

When ever patient feels uncomfortability,he can press the button of the Carefree meter in his wrist. This initiates a rapid and automated short measurement and analysis process. After ten seconds patient hears a short automatically generated vocal feedback of his physiological status on the basis of the measurement done. If patient wants, he can ask health care staff to interpret the measurements in more detail.

Our current prototype:

The system includes a wrist meter which has two buttons, a LED indicator and a heart rate electrode. The meter is connected to laptop which has WLAN-connection. Health care staff has computer with Internet connection and a software for analyse and communication with patients.

The meter has two buttons for starting a ECG measurement. When patient presses the blue button, only he is informed about the heart rate. When patient presses the red button, the ECG signal will be sent to health care staff. Health care professional analyses the signal. If the signal seems to be normal, he presses the green button in the software, and patient hears feedback telling everything is fine. If ECG signal is abnormal, he presses the red button, and patient hears feedback telling health care staff is coming to see him.
