Teaching is arranged either remotely or on campus, depending on pedagogical needs – please remember COVID-19 vaccination

The coronavirus pandemic is at the acceleration phase in Northern Ostrobothnia. However, vaccinations are progressing and at the moment in Oulu vaccinations are offered to residents aged 12 or older.

Oamk recommends that students and staff should take the vaccinations. On campuses, we use face masks and follow all the other safety and hygiene instructions.

Vaccination can be obtained by booking an appointment or going to the walk-in vaccination to Ouluhalli. More information: ouka.fi/vaccinations-against-coronavirus

When teaching on campuses, teachers can get face masks for students from the following places:

  • Linnanmaa campus: the caretakers’ mail room near the Pegasus Library, can be accessed by access card
  • Kontinkangas campus: contact Erja Toivanen, erja.toivanen(at)oamk.fi, 050 547 8718
  • Oulainen campus: operate according to former operating models.

The way teaching is arranged is chosen from the pedagogical premise. Teachers discuss the way of implementation with his/her superior. The aim is to have a common alignment on the arranging of teaching in the degree programme. The aim is to provide a rational and uniform schedule for the student between remote teaching and teaching given on campuses (no unnecessary exchanges in the middle of the day). Teachers are not required to arrange teaching at the same time remotely and in the campus.

Domestic work travelling is allowed if it is necessary and there is no option to participate online. At the moment, work travels abroad should be avoided. Directors of the Schools decide the work travels.

The management team of Oamk will discuss remote work on Monday 16th of August. We will inform the staff about that later.
