How to Apply
Eligibility and tuition
Who are we looking for?
Expected applicants should be interested in either entrepreneurship (creating a new venture, product or service) or intrapreneurship (creating innovations inside your existing organizations). Participants can come from any field and work for example as educators, school administrators, corporate trainers, technologists, engineers, or artists.
Applicants can be from around the world and must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, or a corresponding foreign degree as well as three (3) years of work experience after the degree (from the field associated with the previous degree or a relevant industry).
For Finnish and EU citizens there are no tuition fees to participate in the program.
For non-EU international students, there will be a 10,000 € tuition for one year to participate in the program and 5000 euro for each additional semester to complete the program. Please note that a supplemental grant is provided by Oamk to tuition-paying students for those who accomplish the studies within the set target time (1 year/60 credits, 1,5 year/90 credits). The grant will be 2500 € for one academic year or 1250 € for one semester.
Formal application process
Applicants are required to present a plan in advance of the entrance interviews. This plan should demonstrate at least one key challenge from their current (or previous) work place environment which is in need of an innovative education solution.*
The following tasks are mandatory:**
- Fill in the online application
- Motivational letter
- Preliminary plan describing a development challenge
These assignments should be submitted electronically as a single .pdf document. The document can include links, for example, to videos or a home page. It is the applicants responsibility that the links function properly.
* The qualification must have been completed by the 10th of July 2018. The three years of work experience required for eligibility must have been acquired by the 31st of July 2018. Oamk also accepts work experience completed prior to obtaining a university degree if it represents a minimum of three years of professional experience. If the experience is in the arts sector, artistic activities may be accepted instead of work experience if demonstrated within a portfolio (Law 932/2014). Work experience is announced in full months and does not have to be uninterrupted or acquired by the same employer, but points are only given for the number of full-time jobs presented. Military or voluntary military service, civilian service or nursing leave are not counted as work experience.
**The advance assignment is evaluated on a scale of approved / rejected. Note: the documents should be submitted in English and as a pdf-format electronic document by the end of the application period (a link will be added). If necessary, the document may include links to, for example, videos or home pages. It is the applicant's responsibility that the links function properly. The cover letter should be minimum 600 words. The purpose of the cover letter is to outline the applicant's motivation and to share his / her interests and goals and the readiness to study in the program. In practice, it explains the reason why the applicant should be accepted as a student. The applicant describes his / her career and plans and how the studies are related to it. The applicant also presents how he / she intends to organize the studies taking into account work and life situation.
