The Finnish higher education system consists of universities and universities of applied sciences. Universities of applied sciences offer professionally oriented higher education on bachelor’s and master’s level and have strong ties with working life and regional development. Guidance and counseling
Oulu University of Applied Sciences offers free of charge guidance and counseling for Ukrainians, especially for those who are interested in higher education. You can contact us if your studying at Ukrainian universities is in process, or you are interested in higher education studies in Finland.
Personal guidance and counseling are held in English. It is also possible to arrange a meeting via internet if you live outside of Oulu. Together we can plan your education opportunities here in Oamk, or in other universities n Finland.

Open University – Free Courses and Study Paths
Oamk offers free studies on Open University for Ukrainians. Courses are free of charge for anyone, who had to flee Ukraine due to war and is currently in Finland (temporary protection). In Open University you can study individual courses and study paths.
Note! You can change the language of the registration system to English from the top right corner of the page.

If your goal is to study a degree, path studies are a great option for you. Path studies mainly consist of first year's courses. Student will study in same group as the degree students.
After finishing your path studies you can apply for a degree student status on the basis of your completed studies.
We offer Path Studies in International Business and in Information Technology.
The Study Path in International Business
International Business Path Students are selected by a written motivational letter (max length 2 pages) and by an interview. Applicants will be invited and selected to interviews based on the motivation letter.
The letter should include a short introduction of yourself and your work experience, focus on describing your motivation towards the Path studies and tell us briefly where you see yourself working after completing the degree. Add the motivational letter in PDF format to the registration system. The applicant's skill level of English language must be sufficient for higher education studies.

The Study Path in Information Technology
Students are selected in order of enrolment. The applicant's skill level of English language must be sufficient for higher education studies.
Enrolment period: 1.8.-16.8.2022

Separate Study Right for Ukrainians
You can apply for a separate study right at Oulu University of Applied Sciences if you are studying in University / Academy / Higher Educational Institution in Ukraine. Studies are starting in the beginning of the academic year 2022 - 2023.
People who hold a study place in a higher education institution in Ukraine are eligible for a separate study right to Finnish higher education institutions on humanitarian grounds. The study right varies but is usually for a maximum of two years and 120 ECTS points, and it does not provide student status or lead to a degree.
Courses are free of charge for anyone, who had to flee Ukraine due to war and is currently in Finland (temporary protection).
Separate study rights are offered for the studies of following Bachelor’s Degree Programmes:
