The goal of preparatory project is to develop a main project application called HERBS -developing, renewing, and advancing of sustainable herb and spice plant growing, further producing and productization in northern areas. HERBS project intends to advance vocational expertise of herb and spice growing methods and further producing through developing strong cross-border cooperation. Despite of earlier research and development, there is still a lack of awareness considering efficient, profitable, productive, and sustainable utilization, agriculture methods and farming practices of northern herbs and spices. Projects aim is to respond to this deficiency by gathering and using existing traditional and recent knowledge of herbs, agriculture methods concerning herb growing and to find new sustainable innovations for further producing and productization as well as boost growth and competitiveness of domestic and local business in northern areas, e.g. by activating farmers and entrepreneurs.
