The UNELMA (Applied Imaging methods for novel materials) project is a two-year development project (1 April 2012 - 31 March 2014).
The lead partner is The University of Oulu, Microscopy and Nanotechnology Center (MNT). The project partners are Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences, Luleå University of Technology, The School of Business of the Oulu University of Applied Sciences and Swerea Sicomp.
The industry partners are APC (Sweden), Rautaruukki Oyj, Xperion Oy and Fairchild Semiconductor (Finland).
The aim is to create novel high tech services and operational concepts which will be based on the facilities and research devices of the participating universities. The objective is to improve the competitiveness of high tech SMEs on both sides of the Botnian Arc.
A novel high-tech service with an operational concept, which combines the facilities, research devices and methods of the participating parther universitites will be developed during the project.The service concept will specifically aimed for the use of research organizations and hich tech industrial companies in the area of the Bothnian Arc. The focus will be on the development of imaging, analysis and the R&D devices that are needed in the development of new materials and products.
