Objectives | The student has knowledge of gene technology and the use of it in laboratory practise. The student develops skills in recombinant DNA and cell culture techniques and will be trained in methods used in the diagnostic testing for hereditary diseases. |
Content | Plasmid isolation; digestion; ligation and transformation into a bacterial cell. PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis. Basics of cell culturing. Isolation of chromosomes and chromosome banding. |
