KB00BP38 Business Process Competences (10 cr)

Objectives The student becomes familar with the concepts of Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Moreover, the student has the necessary skills to understand and manage various processes and projects.

Areas of Competence:

Business Processes in an ERP System: A student understands the importance and the possibilities of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) in the management of a company. ERP software will be familiarized in a business oriented way. A student knows processes and tasks of the supply chain from vendor to customer.

Resource Management in ERP System: A student understands Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) in production planning and human capital management. In addition, a student gets acquainted with the procurement and sales processes integration to accounting.

Project and Process Management: The student knows the characteristic of processes, and understands the main principles of project work and team work. Student knows the different phases of processes, project cycles and project work methods as well as is able to apply them to develop the skills in practice. The student is able to work in projects.
Content Areas of Competence:
Business Processes in an ERP System: Enterprise resource planning in business processes. The key modules of ERP, basic concepts and organisation structure. Management of order-supply chain with an enterprise resource planning system, for example Master Data, Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM).

Resource Management in an ERP System: for example Review MM and SD modules in an ERP system. PP and HCM modules in an ERP system. Integration to accounting.

Project and Process Management: Different phases of a process and/or project (planning, implementation, closing), project planning tools/methods, project control cycle, quality in process and project work, principles of the project operations, project breakdown structure, scheduling, resource planning, process organization, team working skills and project management. This course can also include a working-life originating commission as a part of the requirements (assignment, task).
