AT00CW14 The Pedagogical Developer (5 cr)
Prerequisites Before enrolment in a course, you must have completed following courses successfully:
AT00DN39 Basic pedagogical phenomena OR
AT00CV88 Interaction and pedagogical terminology OR
M200CJ63 Pedagogical basis or other similar course. AND
AT00CW02 Learning and curriculum work OR
AT00CJ85 Curriculum
or any other similar course.
Equivalence is assessed using the HOT procedure.
Objectives I develop my activities and pedagogical expertise from an investigational perspective.
I analyse different pedagogical approaches and assess their significance and applicability in my own work.
I work together with other students, sharing my expertise with them.
I understand the significance of good ethical practices and teacher's professional ethical principles in teacher's work.
I analyse the plurality of learners and learning situations from the perspective of teacher's work.
I understand the significance of an individual's and community's well-being in teacher's coping with workload.
Content Growing into being and expert. Set of values, ethics and morals in the profession of a teacher. Recognizing and supporting the education of those in need of special support. Different educational methods. Norms governing assessment. Reflecting on learning, competence and interaction. Critical pedagogy. A teacher's well-being.

I choose a phenomenon to develop in my field and create a miniature study, and in the process of doing it, I practice researching and developing a topic related to my field.

I structure and justify my findings by attaching them to the researched data.
I analyse and apply background factors related to learning, teaching and competence assessment in opening of my own pedagogical thinking.
I create a miniature study in which I open up and structure researched information related to the phenomenon I have chosen, ways of acquiring information and describe the process of making a miniature study.
I set goals and choose a perspective for making a broader thesis (Bachelor's Thesis).
In the peer review, I act thoughtfully and give constructive feedback.
I reflect on my metacognitive skills and how to develop them.

I evaluate pedagogical phenomena in a wide range of ways and present critical or new insights or perspectives based on suitable information.
Perspective choices show expertise and critical and independent thinking.
I demonstrate the mastery of fact-style, critical and cultural literacy and open up different levels of meaning in phenomena.
I justify my interpretations by opening up the historical and social background of pedagogical phenomena and the effects of social changes related to teaching and learning in different situations and/or cultural contexts in the longer term.
I assess insightfully, versatilely, critically or show new perspectives, in teaching and learning topics and their causes and consequences.
I plan my activities by outlining the topic of the broader thesis (Bachelor's Thesis) of my miniature study and execute a structured miniature research process.
