Academic Writing: In order to pass the part of academic writing, the student needs to pass the Moodle tests and complete the final assignment.
Research seminar: In order to pass the part of research seminar, the student needs to complete assignments found in Moodle.
Statistical Research: exam at the end of 4th period
Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
Research competences (8 cr) has three parts: Research Seminar, Academic Writing and Statistical Research. In this module, the student will gain various skills in research and academic writing needed in business but also in order to facilitate the process of preparing a thesis.
Research Seminar and Academic Writing:
The seminar prepares students to write a Bachelor's thesis and aids students in finding a topic for the thesis. The student is able to distinguish current research problems and the methods used in solving them. The student can identify the research process, evaluate research work and apply this knowledge to his/her own Bachelor's thesis writing process. The student knows how to report on their research work in the genre of academic writing.
Statistical Research:
The students can collect, summarize and analyze statistical data and interpret the results. They can apply their skills in statistical research process. The student can use statistical software.

Academic Writing: The Moodle platform is open for those who have enrolled for the course via Peppi. The course will be completed independently. The topics are as follows: general remarks on academic writing, academic writing style, structure and cohesion, definitions, cause and effect, paraphrasing skills, language for visuals, punctuation, writing the thesis abstract and other miscellaneous materials.
Research Seminar: The Moodle platform is open for those who have enrolled for the course via Peppi. The course will be completed independently. The topics are: Introduction to Research Work, Planning Your Research, Compiling a Knowledge Base for Your Research, Collecting Qualitative Data, Analysing Qualitative Data and Reporting Your Research.
